Blacktown Terrace Care Community 37 Kildare Road, Blacktown, NSW 2148 I have looked in my area to find a nursing home that would provide the best care for my mother. I chose Opal Blacktown Terrace Care Community based on my criteria. My choice was based on service, facility, and the location of the nursing home. The quality of a care in a facility may not be determined after a short time. My mother has been in this nursing home for more than a year now. Here is a summary of my experience in this facility. Location - It is 5 minutes walk to Blacktown shopping center and Blacktown train station. Facility - The building is 5 story high and about 5 years old. There are plenty of car parks available for visiting residents. The front entrance is always locked and staff at reception will open the door for you. To enter visitors and staff must self-test for COVID. In the room, there is a TV and reverse cycle air conditioner, and private toilet. There is a motion sensor under bed. Wired button next to bed to call for assistance. Service - Staff are well trained, friendly, and courteous. There is a Doctor, and 24 hour nurse available. There are 3 shifts each day and each shift has a different nurse. The nurse administers the medications. Two staff members help with going to toilet, showering, changing cloths, and meals. The daily care fee covers meals, laundry, continence pads, entertainment, and other activities. For example, on different days they have music therapy, art therapy, happy hours, or bingo. In conclusion, I am confident that my mother is in good hands and is being taken care of at Blacktown Terrace Care community. I highly recommend this facility.

My Auntie passed away 2022, shortly after she had a fall, the nursing home refused to take her to the hospital for 7 days, she had broken bones. They then blamed Covid and said NSW Health wouldnt let them take her but wouldnt let me talk to anyone, or tell me who said it. They only called the ambulance when I said if they didnt I would take her myself. They also refused to change her when she was wet, she would have to sit in it for hours and then blamed her for not going to the toilet (she was 90) they also put wet pants back on her and lost her clothes regularly. We trusted them to look after her and they KILLED her. They also wouldnt put in a formal complaint. **In reply to your comment Sally, it is poor form to call me to try and get me to change my feedback and then blame everyone else (NSW Health and Blacktown hospital and Covid) for the mistreatment over years as well as being charged for services she never used or received. Then try to make yourself look better in replying!
