1917 Lanzhou Beef Noodles

had really high hopes after i had visited the parramatta franchise, but the soup here was thin, watery and flavourless. the meat was over cooked and chewy. maybe because i came towards the lunch rush, they had to water down the soup, but truely just tasted like hot water with chilli oil. would not eat here again.

Noodles are freshly made and chewy and you can choose the thickness and width of the noodles. I have had the red braised beef noodle soup and the spicy (mala) beef noodle soup. The broth is nice but on the salty side, and the spicy option is not really spicy. The difference is they give you a scoop of a savoury and mildly spicy meat sauce on top of the noodles. Another star off because each item on the menu is priced higher than other 1919 Lanzhou Noodle stores (for example, the noodle are priced $2 more) and they surcharge if you pay by card. Service is slow so dont go there if youre in a rush, expect to wait about 20 minutes after you order.
