Alex and the team at Gold Leaf Landscapes transformed the front entrance, private courtyard and carport of our terrace house into an urban oasis that perfectly transitions between indoor and outdoor open-plan living. The team have designed a stunning outdoor environment (both front yard and backyard) that is inviting, family-friendly (specifically baby-friendly) and a space to relax from our busy day-to-day. At Gold Leaf Landscapes, no detail is too small, and every design choice is carefully considered and customised to ensure the final execution is not only of the utmost quality but also beautiful and practical too. In the absence of a word-of-mouth recommendation, we took the uncomfortable step of cold-calling Landscaping companies for our backyard re-design and renovation. We didnt go into the process with high hopes having tried and failed to take on the backyard renovation tasks several times previously without success. Given the complexity and scope of the work needing to be done we had always fallen short of finding anyone willing or that we were comfortable with. We needed help not only with design and landscaping but also knew we would need building, electrical, tiling, painting, rendering, plumbing etc as part of our job. Off the back of positive web reviews, we approached Gold Leaf Landscapes and from the first meeting with Alex and Jarrod we were impressed with their insights, guidance and professionalism. Importantly for us we were immediately comfortable with the way in which both Alex and Jarrod talked us through our options in relation to design, materials and pricing scope. Never a hard sell, just providing us with our options and giving us their guidance on where to get the best impact and value for money in context to our budget. Throughout the construction process Alex and his team kept us up to date with the progress of the job and anything relevant that required our input. Outside of that, Alex managed everything. The Gold Leaf team of trades were not only meticulous and thorough but also respectful and always going out of their way to ensure we were comfortable with the progress of the job. The end result of the work that Alex and his team completed was simply amazing. It was beyond what we had imagined or hoped for and was done through a process that was as close to stress free as it could be. Gold Leaf Landscapes and Jarred Michael Projects have transformed a normal backyard to an absolute stunning beauty. Throughout the journey of the transformation, the team has kept me informed of every step and was very transparent on any potential cost. You can tell that Alex and Jarred are both very passionate about their jobs and take pride in their work and result. Starting from the designing phase, they translated their work ethic, professionalism and passion into actions. They spent at least 3 hours working through multiple changes and options with me just so I am satisfied with the final design. Whenever they see something that do not meet their desired quality, they will put in the extra hours without charges just to deliver the promise. That has resulted in them working some late hours into the nights and during weekends due to the underwhelming weather. Some of the examples where I must hat off and specifically call out are After putting on the timber deck, we found out that the position of the deck may breach the termite barrier. The team has shown their upmost integrity in getting things right. As this is something we both wasnt aware of until the termite inspector came, the team has decided to take the hit by spending a few days work to remove and putting them back. I am not proud of being the cheapskate who doesnt pay for that extra hour since it should also be my responsibility to understand the terminate barrier requirement (and not just the landscaper), but that just showed how much integrity and understanding the team was. Other than that, if Alex couldnt make it to the side during the day, he will come by at least at some key milestone to check if the quality meets its company commitment the quality you can trust. I remember there were a few nights, where some of the things may not live up to the companys quality (which apparently higher than mine), Alex was touching up those bits and pieces in the dark with only the lights from the phone. There are many more examples that I can think of, but these are just some that I think I should kudos to. I will 100% look for them again if I have any other landscape project, or any friends who are interested in transforming their backyard. You may find some other teams or companies who can show you how big their projects in the past, but I believe you cant find someone who can deliver with such passion, integrity, and high quality.
