My GP just told me Prof MERRETT is retiring. He is an amazing Doctor and Surgeon. I had Surgery 9 years ago with Prof MERRETT and on a procedure where I read on forums of so many follow up surgeries needed, and alot of General Surgeons who may not have much experience with the procedure (including horror complications). I was scared, and wanted the best Doctor. My referring Gastroenterologist, said Prof MERRETT was the best Surgeon I could wish for to get this procedure, with some of his patients flying in from interstate and overseas just to see him!! The referring Gastro said I did not want any other Surgeon for this procedure. I can safely say, it was well worth the travel to see Prof MERRETT and have him do the procedure. 9 years and still holding strong. Even his reception staff were amazing, especially if a short notice appointment was needed, both the Prof and Reception were always friendly and professional. Enjoy retirement Prof, you have well and truly earnt it. All the best, and go the Wallabies!!

I didnt have a good experience with this specialist. He looked at my notes for less than 5 minutes and told me to go off all the meds im on and that nothing i have gone through for over 12 years is true and that he felt i wanted an easy fix with surgery. The specialist who sent me to him has suggested i seek a second opinion, and I will be.

Professor Merrett is absolutely wonderful. If it were not for him operating on me before Christmas, i would not be here today. I highly recommend him to anyone that wants/needs a very knowledgeable and very professional surgeon who can also have a laugh. Thank you Dr Merrett.
