Van Loi Banh Mi

I love a banh mi, and we stopped here after having a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. We were full, but a pork banh mi for five dollars is hard to walk past, so we grabbed one each as a takeaway for our dinner. I've only ever eaten banh mi straight away after purchase previously and have always been sceptical about buying for later. I think I have too many memories of soggy school sandwiches. I took the risk because of a previous review from Sydney Food Boy, who mentions that he used to pick some up for school regularly as a kid. Anyway, I digress. I ate it about five hours later, and it was still fresh and not soggy, so I can tick that one off the fear list. I'd highly recommend this. I also loved the whole experience. The lady who made my banh mi had little English, so a man came out from behind the counter to take our order and translate. He was hilarious and responsive when I changed my mind at the last second to omit the raw onions. He was also very funny and a little cheeky. I didn't see my friend pay, so I went to pay a second time. It was one of those very funny you.had to be there moments. I'd go there just for the funny banter, let alone the great banh mi.

A very good and authentic Vietnamese bakery serving bnh m and a lot of traditional Vietnamese sweets including bnh da ln which I highly recommend. We bought bnh kp and it was also delicious. You can also buy sugar cane juice which I would also highly recommend. Regards @fooderarri

The banh mi is pretty good here. Theyre lighter with the mayo and pate compared to other places. Id prefer the heavier mayo and pate. Breads not super crunchy compared to directly from a bakery but still adequate.
