I met with Dr Damiani 2 years ago and he was very dismissive of my concerns. He mis diagnosed me with CRPS chronic regional pain syndrome , it did not sit right with me how he did not listen to my concerns and i was informed he was the specialist so he knew what he was doing. I did write a complaint but nothing happened as his wife is the practice manager. I would give 0 review! Please if you get diagnosed there seek a 2nd opinion, im greatful that I advocated for myself and got the correct diagnosis. Hopefully this helps someone out there.

Excellent surgeon, very easy to talk to. He did my shoulder 3 years ago (complete tear of subscapularis and biceps). Wonderful job, would recommend him

I think the surgeon was mannered and gentlemanly. However, I have to say that I am really disappointed with my wrist surgery, the integrity of the surgeon, the poor postoperative care, and the poor service of Canberra Private Hospital which he chose for me. I was told that there would be only three small scars about half a centimeter each on my wrist after arthroscopic surgery when we went to see this surgeon at beginning. But I was stunned by a big scar of 4cm when the physiotherapist opened the compress on my surgical wound which the surgeon never explained to me why the scar was so big not the small ones as he told me before surgery. And also he didnt tell me anything about it after the surgery at all. If I knew the scar would be so big at beginning when I went to see him, I would think more carefully if I could choose him to do this surgery. And in order to recover as soon as possible, I went to see the physiotherapist for more than ten times and worked very hard on my wrist every day. But it has been more than 7 months until now, my wrist is still pain as long as I use it and its shape still looks strange. The surgeon advised me to do another check to see if the bone is a bit longer and maybe need to cut it a little bit but shouldnt that have been known during my last surgery? I cant accept another hurt on my little wrist. Maybe I will go to Sydney to look for help for my poor wrist.

An hour before my appointment and after 3 months waiting I was informed the email for approval to see Dr Damiani was not good enough (despite it being ok for my other shoulder last year and its all related to the same claim) as a result I had the choice to pay myself ($340) and then have to claim back thru WC or not attend. Looks like I'm looking for a new surgeon. The disappointment is that now my year of training and travel etc. is delayed by 12 months as I cant do either until this is done. Meaning I've now got another year of not being able to train or travel while my mental and physical health declines. In making a commitment to these guys know this, its up to you to manage you, don't assume they will assist help or offer assistance. The good news is my new surgeon will do my shoulder and the future shoulder replacement when it comes along. This is not a ranking or review on the surgeons skills but rather the unhelpful and lazy admin you must endure.
