Is not where it says on the map, actually 1/6 Constitution Ave! Would not recommend for independent financial advice.

The good: I thought I'd give some actual details about the good and the bad. We have been with Dixons for nearly ten years and have had ups and downs with them. We had some very good advice initially, followed by several years of dodgy, Dixon focussed investment advice, that has now been replaced with some very good, independent investment advice. I'm finding that the things suggested by Dixons have been worth considering over the past twelve months or so. Their staff have always been very responsive to our needs, helping with the administration of our fund and property. The bad: The Dixon focussed investment advice we received i.e. the China based solar farms, Dixon owned property portfolios etc. weren't great and when I originally tried to steer away from these I was strongly discouraged to do so (this approach has now changed). In the end I decided to exercise the "self" in self managed super and provide clear direction about what I wanted based on my own research and thinking. They are quite expensive in some areas but all financial advice can be expensive, and so can not getting financial advice. Lastly, I still find I have to push and advocate for what I want in my portfolio although my current manager is great. He and I often have a laugh and share our own personal portfolio tips. I just wish they would look more into mining and minerals and provide advice on property in an SMSF outside of where their own interests lay. Overall I'm glad I'm with Dixons. I find that I have the flexibility if I choose to exert it. If I was just to sit and be passive about their advice and what happened with my fund then I could be a bit disappointed. But these are SELF managed superannuation funds - if you don't want to think about what you're doing and where you're investing why would you pay a company like Dixons for an SMSF? You'd be better off in a managed fund somewhere.
